Achievements

After years of showing up, working hard, spending nights out in the great wilderness, and making countless life long friends, I earned my eagle scout award as a proud completion of my efforts. There are few other awards that have brought me as much recognition and I'm truly grateful that I had the opportunity to be able to learn and do what I did to go to this point. It was a real adventure and much of it was just awesome.

I learned a lot from the group and from the scouting community. I forged unforgettable memories and strong bonds with friends and family that have given me some of the best experiences to look back on. I think I definitely got lucky with the groups and friends I met along the way but I also think that scouting really does its to give you strong values and morals and that I think have done me a lot of good in a lot of other areas of my life such as emergency prep and handling as well as creative problem solving and a healthy respect for conservation. If you get the chance I highly recommend the experience.

Shown here is our scout master and Vietnam War veteran Mr. West. He taught us everything you could know about backpacking, survival techniques, and general respect for the wilderness. His guidance inspired a lot of us in the troop. His level of calm in tough situations was something I'll remember forever. I'm incredibly grateful for him, my scout mast Tony Brown who was there for most of the beginning of my journey god rest his soul, my scout master Gary Linsky, who truly stepped up to the plate on multiple occasions and was always quick with a much needed joke, and of course to both of my parents who constantly took the time to teach merit badges, host the group, and plan the outings for the troop. None of this would have been possible without you guys. Truly thank you from the bottom of my heart.
